Genoo was founded in 2008 with a simple but radical belief:

From day one, we’ve been obsessed with one thing – helping experts, educators, consultants, and mission‑driven teams turn their expertise into visibility, trust, and revenue. Today, that mission lives inside everything we build, teach, and coach.

We’re a fully virtual, globally distributed team – strategists, technologists, creators, and operators who care deeply about helping our customers win. Kim Albee
President, Chief Technical Officer, and Boat Captain

Kim founded Genoo in 2008 after seeing firsthand that powerful marketing tools were priced out of reach for the very organizations that needed them most.

She’s spent her career at the intersection of technology, strategy, and transformation – leading digital content strategy for major media companies in the 90s and helping organizations like the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Wells Fargo, Verisign Global Registry Services, and Yahoo! modernize how they connect with their audiences.

Kim is a visionary in marketing systems design, a builder of category‑defining tools, and a fierce advocate for helping experts turn their knowledge into influence. She steers Genoo’s product innovation, technical architecture, and strategic direction – and occasionally a literal boat.

Margaret Johnson
Chief Strategist and Snarky Commenter

Margaret shapes the strategic backbone behind Genoo’s programs, messaging, and customer success. She helps clients clarify their expertise, articulate their value, and implement the systems that make them discoverable and trusted. She brings a sharp editorial eye, a strategist’s brain, and a well‑timed dose of snark to keep everything honest, human, and focused on what actually works.

Prior to joining Genoo in 2014, she was a Genoo customer – one of Genoo’s first customers, in fact, and utilized Genoo as a one-person marketing department to help an IT services firm quadruple in revenues over her eight year tenure there.

In 2024, Margaret authored the ebook, Igniting Momentum: How One Decision Sparked a Business Transformation, which documents one “could-be-true” journey of a leadership team struggling with client acquisition and retention and how they resolved those issues.
